WINTER 2012

STORYBOOK FUN
Ages 5 - 8

Participants will learn to become a variety of characters through movement, voice, and emotion and will increase their understanding of theatrical performance. At the end of this exciting 6 week session, children will become many characters from their favorite stories. Limited to 20 students.

CREATING A CHARACTER
Ages 9 - 12
Jan 7 - Feb 11, 2012

Young actors will learn how to develop characters from age appropriate plays, as well as characters built from their imaginations. Acting exercises and improvisation will introduce basic terms, skills, and ideas that develop technique. Students will learn how to work as an ensemble as they build skills in concentration, movement, voice, and imagination. Limited to 15 students.

VOICE CLASS
Ages 7 - 14
Jan 7 - Feb 11, 2012

So you’d like to learn to sing? Here’s your chance in a class voice setting with people your own age. In this introductory course singers will learn basic singing technique focusing on breathing and vocal placement. Age appropriate repertoire will be selected by the instructor. Musical theater basics will be incorporated into class. Students will perform in the final class. Limited to 12 students.

VOICE CLASS
Ages 15 & up
Jan 9 - Feb 13, 2012

For both beginner and intermediate singers. This course will cover basic technique of vocal production: breathing and placement of tone. Repertoire will be selected from Broadway musicals. Basics of musical theater will be incorporated into class. Students will perform in the final class. Limited to 15 students.

THREE OR MORE!
Ages 18 & up
Jan 10 - 26, 2012 (meets twice a week)

This class is designed for actors to work scenes involving 3 or more characters. Each group will focus on a 10 minute play that they will explore and develop ending in a performance during the final class. Limited to 15 students.

ACTING FOR THE FUN OF IT
Ages 55 & over
Jan 11 - March 7, 2012

Come discover the actor in you and join others in having fun while bringing joy to others. Students learn basic acting skills through the exploration of improvisation, theater games, interpretation and scene study. No experience needed, just the wish to have fun. The class will culminate with a performance of work from the class that will be presented to audiences at senior retirement homes.

COMEDIC ACTING FOR TEENAGERS
Ages 13 - 18
Jan 11 - Feb 15, 2012

Comedy is about timing. It’s also about fun! In this class you’ll learn the art of acting with a focus on comedic monologues and scenes. You’ll also have a blast making your friends and family laugh at our show-and-tell performance. This six week course will be both fun and educational.
